Course Name: Thai Boxing Beginners Course

Duration: 6 weeks

Time: 7.00-8.00pm Wednesday

Start Dates:  14/01/09  //  25/02/09   //  08/04/09

Fee: £50 Full Cost - includes all tuition for the above course (6 classes on your selected day either Tuesday or Wednesday), 1 year club membership (includes discounted class fees, personal martial arts insurance and gradings book) and a certificate on completion of the course.

Payment must be received before the start of the first session.

Course Overview:

This course is designed for complete beginners in Thai Boxing and within the course you will learn how to use the kicks, knees, elbows and punches. This course is an excellent stepping stone for those of no experience or lacking in fitness as it will enable you to learn the techniques and build fitness in a small group with dedicated tuition.

Age limit: 16plus (we sometimes allow 13-15year olds on the course but this is at the discretion of the instructor and the junior’s parents). Most people on the course are aged 20-40years old.


Week 1: Basic Boxing (simple boxing and pad holding techniques)

Week 2: Basic Kicks (roundhouse kicks and teeps (push kick))

Week 3: Punch and Kick combinations

Week 4: Basic Knees/Elbows (Elbow strikes, long knees and basic grapple techniques)

Week 5: Combination of the above

Week 6: Combination of the above


No sparring will take place within this course and it is suitable for both men and women

This course will be taught by one of our senior Thai Boxing instructors.

Equipment Required:

All Thai Boxing equipment will be provided, please wear shorts and a t-shirt/vest and we train bare foot (no trainers required).  You may wish to purchase a groin guard or your own equipment and this is obtainable from our shop at very competitive rates, but this is optional. Please note as from the 1st May 2008, no equipment will be provided in the classes or for courses beyond the beginners course, so if you wish to continue in Muay Thai you will need Boxing Gloves (14 or 16oz), Shinpads and Thai Boxing or MMA Shorts as a minimum to train.
