The Ocean Gym is unique in Southampton, not only because of the classes/services that it offers, but also the training environment.  We pride ourselves on offering first class tuition with qualified and insured instructors within a clean, safe and purpose equipped gym.

Unlike many gyms, we cater for both those wishing to train for fitness and those that want to compete.  There is no pressure to compete or even spar, but those that want to go on to compete, will be invited to fighters only classes and will be given the best pre-fight training from our experienced instructors

Why Martial Arts?

Martial Arts are a fantastic way to get fit, but they also help:

How do I Join?

  • If you are a beginner there are several options available to you.  You could join one of our six week Beginner courses, come straight to the regular mixed ability classes or even attend both.  You may prefer to have personal tuition.

  • If you have previous experience, then come along to one of our mixed ability classes

  • If attending the beginners course, you do not require any specialist equipment.  If attending the classes, you will need your own kit after your first week of training.  A full list will be provided on attending the gym

  • You do not have to join, you can attend the classes as a non member and pay as you go.

  • For the classes (non courses) you can pay as you go or pay by one of our payment schemes.

What else does the club offer?

  • Social events are organised regularly these vary from attending Thai Boxing Shows to meeting up on a Saturday night.

  • Club training trips to Thailand

  • Extra advice on nutrition/training etc

  • Informal running club in the New Forest from long distance running off road through the forest to sprint training on a local running track, great for those wanting to compete, but open to all.

  • Help be involved with Lumpini Promotions that hold Thai Boxing/MMA events with competitors from around the world.
